| Q: What are the benefits of trapping a job? | ||||||
| A: Trapping a job gives a multi-color job a tighter, cleaner look. If you have multiple colors that are running into each other in your layout, then you want to trap. There are countless things that can be a hair off on press and in the plate making process. When the computer breaks down the image into the appropriate plates it may not always allow enough area of a given object to line up against another. This causes problems for the pressman. Sometimes when a job is not trapped, areas on one part of the page may line up just fine but may cause other areas to be off-this is when leaking occurs. (See below.) | ||||||

| Trapping eliminates the chance of this happening and makes the job go much smoother, which translates into a faster turn-around time for you. (See: What is trapping?) |
